About Me

Emily Viva, MSW, LCSW

With over 10 years of experience working in a variety of settings with a diverse clientele, I have honed my skills to focus on hearing and understanding the needs of my clients as well as using the strengths they already have to help them move forward. Clients find me to be open and honest, straight-forward and compassionate, and I work to make sure clients have concrete strategies and skills to put into practice between our sessions.

I provide individual therapy from a cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) framework and incorporate the following modalities to help you reconnect with your inner voice, regulate your nervous system and rewrite the stories that no longer serve you.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Solution-focused therapy
  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
  • The Positive Parenting Program (Triple P)

I work with children (ages 3+), adolescents, adults and families around anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral challenges, parenting support and life transitions. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcoming to clients of all backgrounds.

A Raleigh native and graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, I live in Raleigh with my husband, two kids, and our cat and dog.
